Preferred qualifications:
- As a Consulting Member of the Technical Staff, you will own software development of significant features in Oracle Cloud’s Database Service offerings. You should be comfortable with development in Java and be willing to learn new languages as needed. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
- Come build the state-of-the-art IaaS storage enabling a new class of databases and applications starting from the ground floor.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
- As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in defining and evolving standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience or an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- Strong technical skills with a proven record of designing and developing cloud-scale systems, highly available distributed systems, or databases.
- Deep knowledge of database internals, database management, and life cycle management is a huge plus.
- Experience with Oracle, Aurora, MySQL, PostgreSQL, InnoDB, PolarDB, and TaurusDB will not hurt.
- Strong experience with data structures, algorithms, concurrency, multi-threading, object-oriented design
- Proficiency in developing large production projects written in modern C, C++, Java, Scala, Go.

Software Developer 3

Job Description
Oracle Communications DB Tier software development team is seeking experienced software engineer. We are seeking candidates with 3 to 8 years of intensive Java development experience in a Linux environment and prior telecom or networking experience.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Design, develop, and unit test Oracle DB Tier software using C++/Java on Linux platform.
- Work/Co-ordinate/collaborate with global Oracle DB Tier Software Development and support team.
- Support product verification team by troubleshooting reported issues.
- Review escalated field issues. Write root cause analysis documents for field issues if necessary.
- Participate in software design and design discussions to improve the software performance, maintainability, serviceability, and reliability.
- Coordinate with other teams within Oracle to understand use cases and be able to solve problems with generic, reusable software.
- Other duties may be assigned.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The DB Tier team is currently seeking someone with 3 to 8 years of strong Java/C++ software engineering in a Linux environment. Prior telecom, networking and/or database experience is expected.
- Bachelor’s or MCA equivalent engineering/computer science education spanning 4 years.
- Strong command on spoken and written English.
- Strong background on Linux and multithreaded programming.
- Experience with relational database and SQL.
- Working experience in following technologies is preferred: Kubernetes, Docker, Java Spring Boot, MySQL Database and Telecom domain, ansible.
- Experience with telecom/networking protocol and protocol software development.
- Ability to work directly from specification like IETF RFCs and 3GPPP TSs.
- Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities.
- Experience with Linux based development tools and agile development methods is required.
- Knowledge of software development methodology, build tools and product life cycle.
- Excellent team skills, can-do attitude, focus on quality and drive to make a difference in a dynamic, fast paced organization.
